had to design bracket to make seat fit
This seat does not fit Jeeps with gas tank under the seat. Even the instructions inside the package say 1976 and up!
Had to modify mounting frames to install frames on a 74. Frames could have been from later model jeep. Recommend putting mounting hole distances on webb site. Smaller size is plus if you need extra room.
can the seats be used in my 55 cj5 and do you have the hardware brackets used to install them on driver side and passenger side

Hi Jim The Low-Back Bucket Seat will fit your 1955, we do not have the seat mounting brackets for those, you would have to fabricate some to work. Also the Low-Back Bucket Seat has more padding in them so will be tight behind the wheel for a while. Thanks

Will this seat fit in a 78 cj5 without modifications to the mounting brackets

I want to put these seats in a fiberglass dune buggy. The width I have is about 19 1/2" of width total. I will fabricate my own brackets so the hardware is no problem. However, do you think the cushion will squeeze enough to fit within the 19 1/2 inches. I guess a lot has to do with the width of the metal frame of the seat. Can anyone help? thanks

Nate, the seat measures front to back 21",Height of the back is 23" and the width is 20" I hope this helps. Sounds like it might be a tight fit!
